Meet the Author/Illustrator

Robin K. Thumann, M.Ed., M.S.W.

Robin K. Thumann is a native of Michigan and migrated south to Georgia, where she currently resides with her husband and daughter. While obtaining her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and master’s degree in social work at the University of Michigan, her interest in character development and family interactions heightened. She further explored the “special needs” of children while obtaining a mater’s degree in special education at Oakland University. As a kindergarten teacher, state early childhood education consultant and parent, her interest in promoting positive thinking, values and peace continued.

Currently, she works as a mediator in domestic, civil and juvenile disputes. She is concerned about the quantity and quality of time parents spend with their children and is motivated to develop “tools” that can be used to promote communication and values that are of vital importance to all of humanity.

Her illustrations, created with acrylic and watercolor, embody her love of color, and impressions from her travels. Her images are graphic in nature, and are intended to convey a feeling that speaks to children.
